This male American Kestrel is life size, made from tupelo gum wood and painted with acrylic paints. The feet are made from brass and he is olding a carved grasshopper while looking backwards to ensure another bird of prey isn't approaching to steal his well-earned lunch. The Kestrel is perched on a piece of manzanita with a cedar barkground.
